The Society was formed in 1969 following an excavation of the Romano-British structures under the village.
The Society aimed to promote interest in the archaeology, history and natural history of our area
It flourished until November 2023 when it was closed because of an inability to find committee members.
All records of the Society are now archived and housed in Chippenham Museum
